Today, Nintendo announced that the all new Opera web browser for the Wii will be released December 22 as a free beta version. Becoming available for download this Friday through the Wii Shop Channel, the full version of the web browsing software from Opera is scheduled for launch in March of 2007. While Friday's demo will be free through June of 2007, the final version will cost 500 Wii points, or five dollars.
Scott Hedrick, Executive Vice President, Opera Software, said, "Our software brings the power and reach of the Internet to the hottest video game system available. Wii's unique interface adds a new dimension to our browser, making it a useful tool that the whole family will enjoy operating with ease."
Also, Nintendo announced the Wii Forecast Channel going live today through a system update. The new channel allows users to check the weather in their local areas, or anywhere else on the globe. |
