In Nashville, Tennessee, a 6-year-old boy suffered from burns to twenty percent of his body while playing video games on his GameCube Monday morning.
Some neighbors woke up to the screams of Ke-Ke Whitlow, 6, from a second story apartment at around 8:00am in the morning.
His mother ran down the stairs holding her son, who had burns to his neck, chest, and stomach, reported local WTVF.
Paramedics rushed Whitlow to the emergency room at Vanderbilt Burn Center. There, he was treated for second degree burns. When his grandmother asked the boy what happened, he reportedly said, “My plug caught on fire.”
According to fire investigators, no official cause has been determined. The GameCube and a small TV were taken as evidence in a fire and police investigation.
Whitlow is expected to remain recovering at Vanderbilt for two or three weeks, as doctors believe he may need skin grafts.
